How do I get traffic to my blog? Do I basically just need to add content? Does my blog get picked up in the search? Any advice on blogging is very much needed.

Bloggers blog for any number of reasons. Some bloggers blog to drive traffic to a website on which they are selling an information product or a physical product. These types of blogs usually consist of relevant information or a product review. These are excellent sources of information for someone who is undecided about which product to buy or to find out more information about a a digital information product.
The biggest problem for these types of blogs is getting enough traffic to the site for the information to be shared. The best way to do this is to write relevant information about the product that you are reviewing or recommending. The more people then who find your website will build it up by recommending it to others. Getting this initial traffic to a website is one of the hardest things to do for a blogger.
Another type of blog is one where regular updates are given on a current situation. Blogs are much faster for disseminating regular information about an event than a newspaper is for example.
The way to get a good traffic stream going is to build up back links from related blogs or news blogs. Once you mention in the comments section of a related blog that you have more information available on your site, readers will click your link and check out your blog. This in turn then not only brings you traffic but these clicks count as back links and will help to build your site up in the search engines so that your blog shows up on the first page of a search engine for the subject that you are talking about.
Other bloggers like to blog about their daily life. Blogs don’t have to be about selling anything or a newsworthy event. Most people are interested in another’s persons life and their activities ~ after all, most of us are voyeurs and like to know that we are not alone or too different from everyone else.
