Consistency is essential for a Blogs success

Knowing what is essential for a blogs success can vary from blog to blog but no matter what the blog is about the one essential blog requirement for any successful blog is consistency.

Consistency means that a blogger must post on a regular basis if the blog is to rise in the search engines popularity stakes. If the blog isn’t found in the search engines then there will be very little traffic visiting your blog. Traffic is real people who view your blog posts to make it a success. Consistent traffic from real people visiting your blog is what offers the best opportunity for a blogs success.

With the millions of websites and blogs on the internet today it isn’t easy to have your blog found and read by real people. I was reading some blog discussions this morning and the last estimated number of websites/blogs on the internet is now in excess of 300 million sites. So, to get into the top 10 and have your blog shown on the first pages of Google for your keyword is going to be a challenge….to put it mildly.

Don’t despair though because it is possible!

It is possible because you can do some things to search engine optimise(SEO) your blog that helps you to get your site ‘preferred’ by Google . By this I mean that you can set up your blog to help the search engines find your blog and have it listed in the index of Google. Many new (and even experienced) bloggers don’t do this right.

Search engines send out what are known as search engine bots to crawl your site and find out what it is all about. Now if you have everything in place to help the search engines crawl your blog, don’t you think they will give you preference for all your help? Of course they will!

If you practise consistency by regularly updating your blog and you consistently help the search engines bots you will have a successful blog.

How to Become a Blogger Today is easy!

Many people new to the Internet come across all this talk about blogs, blogging and blogger name calling and wonder what in the world has happened?

It’s a totally new language to them until they understand the basics of where the word originates.

English is a language based on Latin origins and from this it has the capability to be expanded to include new meanings to old activities. The word “Blog” is a shortened version of two words; ‘Web’ and ‘log’. The web part is pretty obvious as it comes from the World Wide Web but where does ‘log’ come into the equation?

A BRIEF BLOG HISTORY:

Back in days-long-gone, people often used to keep a log of their activities on a farm or on a ship. A log is a record of events that occurred in or at a certain time. These logs got extended and evolved into journals. Many well-to-do people who could afford the time, paper and had the education, used to keep a journal of their daily activities.

The reason most of these journal keepers were able to record their activities is simply because they were the ones with the education. The mass-population at the time didn’t have the education to read or write even if they had the time to do it or the money to pay for the paper or book in which to write.  Education was once a luxury that could only be afforded by the very rich and was not available to all as it is today.

Without getting technical here is what a blog really is: It is the shortened version of these two words, made from the last letter of the first word combined with the last word. There is a bit more to it based on the design of the cascading style sheet along with other pre-formatted web site designing made especially for the search engines bots to read easily.

ALL A BLOGGER NEEDS TO KNOW:

But as a blogger you don’t need to know more than this because all this hard-techie stuff has already been done for you. Blogger.com and WordPress  (among many others) have already invented the tools for you to use as a blogger.

A blogger is someone who writes on their blog every day the same as a journal keeper of years ago used to write in their journal or a diary keeper used to write in their diary.

But today because we have a new technology using a new medium, we have a new name for the actual activity. That is all a blogger does is to keep a journal, a log, a diary of their daily activities.

Knowing how to become a blogger today is a lot easier than journal keeping was years ago. Today we are able to read and write and we use binary code instead of paper. You don’t have to understand what it is or how it works. As a blogger all you need to know is how to read and write and how to use the free tools that are so readily available everywhere that you have computer access.
